Affidavit Format for New Electricity Connection

While applying for new electricity connection, the applicant has to submit to the Electricity Company / Board, an Affidavit along with application form and other supporting documents viz. applicant's proof of identity & address, proof of occupancy (purchase deed / rent agreement with noc from landlord), passport photograph, etc.

An affidavit has to be signed by the applicant in the presence of two witnesses who shall sign too, and has to be attested by a Notary Public before submitting it to the Electricity Company.

Either prepare the affidavit in a format prescribed by the Electricity Company or take the help of an advocate for this, otherwise you may refer the below template.

I, (Name of the Person), age ... years, son / daughter of (Father's Name), resident of (address) do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:

1. that I am the legal occupant of premises at (address), bearing property registration no. ............... for which a new electricity connection has been required in the capacity as the tenant/ owner on the basis of the documents of legal occupancy of the premises;

2. that the Competent Authority of (Name of the Electricity Company) vide letter no. ................ dated .................. has sanctioned a new connection in the said premises and sanctioned a load of ........... KW/KVA;

3. that I undertake to pay the dues, if any, found outstanding against any Electricity connection earlier obtained for the said premises;

4. that I agree to abide by the terms and conditions mentioned in the application form for electricity connection;

5. that the electricity connection sanctioned in the said premises in my name for using electricity for my building for residential / commercial purposes shall be used for the same purpose as sanctioned;

6. that the electricity connection shall not confer any legal right of regularization of my premises including its land use;

7. that in case of electricity is to be used for a licensable trade, I shall obtain N.O.C. / License from the Competent Authority as may be required;

8. that I undertake to abide by the Electricity Act, 2003 and relevant electricity laws of the State of .................. as may be applicable for this connection from time to time;

9. that (Name of the Electricity Company) shall be at liberty to disconnect, without prior notice, the electricity supply including disconnection of electricity of my other premises, and may may take all possible action as per law for recovery of dues including penalties or additional charges, under the following circumstances:
(i) failure on my part to pay the electricity bills on time by the due date or extended due date;
(ii) failure on my part to abide Electricity laws of the country applicable as applicable for my electricity connection;
(iii) the electricity connection is found to be used for any purpose other than for which it has been sanctioned; and
(iv) violation of the terms and conditions mentioned in the application form for electricity connection.

NOC Letter Format for Change of Name in Electricity Bill

The No Objection Certificate (NOC), from the Landlord/ Owner/ Occupant/ Previous Registered Consumer of the premises where electricity connection is given, has to be submitted to the Electricity Board / Company while making an application for change of name for the electricity connection.

Following template of NOC for change of name in Electricity Connection can be referred.

A net worth certificate of a company from a practicing Chartered Accountant may be asked on different occasions depending on the circumstances.

While there might be already some prescribed format in which the certificate maybe asked for, a Chartered Accountant can provide the certificate in the way he deems fit by following necessary provisions under the law.

Net worth is to be calculated as per the audited financials for the previous financial year.
