Drinking on duty / intoxication at work is a major violation of one of the general terms of a company's policy for its employees. It would be a grave mistake to make it a habit of such silly things and getting caught at work in a drunken state.
The employer may take severe action against an employee for such behavior. But if the employee's performance is especially very good, then they may give you only warning initially. If after warning the employee still commits the mistake, no matter how productive or important he is for the organisation, they may terminate your service in the company.
Format of such warning letter to employee for intoxication at work is given hereunder for your reference.—
