Date of Birth Change in Bank Account - Formal Letter to Bank

A bank will change the date of birth of a customer in its records only after receiving proper documentary proof backing the accuracy of this. Therefore, just writing an application letter to the bank for changing your date of birth in your bank account won't be sufficient, bank will most likely reject it.

The documents, which are considered mostly for valid date of birth proof, are matriculation certificate (grade 10), passport, aadhar, pan card, driving license, etc.

I have recently noticed an error in my personal details in the banking records for my savings account in your bank. I was checking my bank passbook and in the front page I noticed that the date of birth mentioned of mine is incorrect.

Kindly note the following details carefully.

Therefore, I request you to kindly correct the same in your records for my account at the earliest. I am enclosing herewith copies of my matriculation certificate and aadhar card for verification purposes.

Application Letter for Linking Aadhaar Card to the Bank Account

Updation of Aadhar card numbers in the bank accounts of customers was made compulsory earlier by the Government, but due to a recent Supreme Court judgment the customers can't be forced anymore to link their bank account with Aadhar. But if you are still interested to link your Aadhar with your bank account for some purposes like receiving gas connection subsidies etc, then you should apply to your bank for such updation.

There are different methods to update your Aadhar number in bank account.

(1) Through Netbanking portal of bank - login and update the details;

(2) Submit application form at the bank's branch office;

(3) Write a letter to bank with all the details and submit it.

Following format of request letter to the bank for updating Aadhar number in your bank account can be used. Do check with your bank first to know the procedure and documents requirement accurately.
