How to Write a Letter to Close or Deactivate a Demat Account

If you want to close your demat account with your bank or any other company who are known and registered as Depository Participants, then you should visit their branch office or website to get the application form for closure of demat account and to submit it. Because, most probably, they will accept closure request only if you submit their prescribed application form for it.

So it is advisable that you carry a written letter for closure from your side too. Also while visiting the branch office, do carry your identity and address proof and any other documentary proof of the demat account of yours.

Request Letter to Bank for Cancellation/ Closing of Credit Card

Circumstances: A person may request the bank to close his credit card account permanently under various circumstances viz. he doesn't want to continue to use credit cards because of high use of it causing an increase in expenses, or he is not satisfied with that bank's credit card features or charges, or there was some unwanted dispute relating to the credit card transactions, etc.

Notice Letter to Society Members for Maintenance Charges Due

Every member of a housing society i.e. the flat owners are required to pay the maintenance charges incurred by the society committee for the maintenance expenses of the society. The amount of maintenance charges are generally prefixed by the society committee based on previous year's expenditure trend. If the flat owner fails to pay the maintenance charges in time, then the society committee has the right to seek legal remedies in the matter. But at first they do send reminders on payment to the society members.

Sometimes, for major renovation activities to be carried out for a flat in a society, the flat owner or tenants might have to seek a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the society committee in advance before starting any such activities. Demand Draft DD stop payment Letter to Bank for cancellation

Cancellation of Demand Draft (DD) i.e. stopping payment of such DDs, only happens under special circumstances unlike stopping payment of Cheque which is rather simple. Once the Demand Draft is issued by the bank and you have given it to the party for encashment, then it will not be possible for the bank to cancel it for you.

Stop Payment of Demand Draft (DD) Letter to Bank for CancellationDDs are cancelled only in few situations like :
a) if you have the original demand draft then you can return it to the bank - requesting for cancellation and refund of money;
b) in case you've lost the demand draft for any reason like misplaced it, it got stolen, it's destroyed, etc, then you'll have to produce the proof of original DD issued - a photocopy of it, some banks might insist on additional documents as a proof of DD lost i.e. police FIR copy, affidavit, undertaking, etc.

In case you were a non-resident earlier and living in foreign country permanently for job or business purposes, but if you have left the foreign country and come back to India for settling down at India forever as a resident of it, then in addition to many other formalities of changes you have to also apply for conversion of your NRE/NRO/FCNR bank account to normal resident account.

Letter to Bank Requesting for Activation of SMS Alert Service

At first, please know the difference between SMS banking and SMS alert service of your bank account. SMS banking is accessing/monitoring your bank account details and making transactions through your mobile sms. SMS banking service once activated by your bank - you can start doing activities on it. Whereas SMS alert service once activated by your bank upon your request - you do not have to do anything, you just keep receiving SMS about your bank balance, info on certain transactions and some other important banking alerts.

So, in order to activate this SMS alert service you have to specifically request for it to your bank. Most of the time these are requested during the opening of the bank account. Otherwise you can request activation or deactivation of it at any point of time.
