Letter to Bank for IPIN Net-banking New Password (reset/forgot)

There are two ways of getting or a new password for the net banking facility of your bank account:

1) Either use any of the offline methods; or
2) By using the online platform.

Offline method -

1) You can visit the nearest branch of your bank to request for a new IPIN (Internet PIN - ie. NetBanking password) by submitting the application form.

They will not give you the IPIN instantly. They will only take the request for generation of new IPIN, which will then be mailed (by post/courier) to your registered communication address.

2) While visiting the branch, if you are carrying the mobile having registered mobile number for that account. They may help you to regenerate the IPIN by following online method and sending OTP to your mobile for authentication.

3) You can call to the bank's phone banking services or the customer care and submit a request for regeneration of IPIN. It will be posted to your registered mailing address.

4) You can also submit a IPIN regeneration request by visiting any ATM of your bank and submitting a request at the ATM by using your Debit card and ATM Pin.

Online method -

You can visit the Net banking website of your bank to check the "Forgot Login Password" option.

Different banks have different methods of generating new net banking password.

At first, you will have to enter customer id number or account number or both.

Then you will have to authenticate yourself by submitting registered mobile number and/or email id, where OTP will be sent. You will have to submit that OTP online to complete authentication.

After authentication, you will be given the option to input the new IPIN (net banking password).

Some banks do not have an online method of generating password instantly through OTP or ATM pin verification method. They may give only option for submitting the request where IPIN will be posted to your mailing address.

Most banks have their own prescribed pre-printed application form for requesting for regeneration of Net banking password (IPIN). Please check with them at first. If they do not have any such form, then you can submit your request in a simple application letter by providing necessary details.
